3D TVs- Do you always have to wear glasses?
Posted by Jason Brager in 3D
Many of our customers are asking if they ALWAYS have to wear glasses after purchasing a 3DTV. The answer? “Absolutely not!”
In most cases, 3D TVs are also the best 2D TVs. The 3D sets are the highest end models that manufacturers are offering and all of the internal components, video processors, and scalers are the best that manufacturers have to offer. Then, when you want to watch a 3D bluray disc, play a game in 3D, or watch a 3D broadcast, you put the TV and device in “3D mode,” pop on your 3D glasses, and enjoy TV in a “whole new dimension” (pardon the pun). Anyone not wearing the 3D glasses will see a double image. Most people today will enjoy 90+% of their TV viewing in 2D. As more and more content becomes available, we’ll be doing more and more 3D viewing.
Take advantage of some great promotions from Panasonic and Samsung. Through the end of the month, both manufacturers are offering free 3D bluray players and free 3D starter kits (which include 2 pairs of 3D glasses and a 3D bluray disc) with the purchase of one of their 3D sets. The Panasonic VT25 series won “Best in Show” at the Consumer Electronics Show and comes in sizes from 50″ to 65″. If you’re looking for an LED, the Samung C7000 or C8000 series are both great sets and come in sizes ranging from 40″ to 65″. Remember though, when it comes to 3D, processing speed and size are king. My recommendation is the Panasonic TC-P65VT25 if you’re looking for a flat panel. If depth is not a concern, check out the 73″ and 82″ Mitsubishi DLP sets. The only thing better than watching a 3D movie on an 82″ TV is watching the Ravens win on an 82″ TV. Hopefully we’ll be able to do that in 3D soon too!
Customer Testimonial from Edward K

This is a follow-up to my telephone conversation with you this morning on the outstanding customer service provided by Alfred Adjin in your Rockville showroom. My first experience with Alfred was earlier this year when he was with Myer Emco and we purchased a TV. Before the TV was delivered Myer Emco closed its stores and went out of business.
I was so pleased to find Alfred at The Big Screen Store and with his good help my wife and I purchased a Samsung C6800 with all the accessories he recommended. It was installed on schedule and worked fine for several weeks until we encountered a problem with the Harmony 900 remote. One call to Alfred was all that was needed. He very promptly had a technician come out who found that the problem was not the remote but needed an adjustment on one of the boxes. Following this adjustment by the technician, the TV, Harmony remote and all accessories are working beautifully. During this short period while the problem was being worked on Alfred called several times following up on the situation. He wanted to be sure that the situation was being resolved.
All too often, once the sale is closed the problems go to the “back burner” – not with Alfred. He stayed with the problem until he was satisfied we were with good service. This is especially important when the sale involves a product that is highly complex and technical like a TV with all the “bells and whistles.” I told Alfred that any time The Big Screen Store needs a recommendation to call me.
You have an excellent sales representative in Alfred and every reason to be proud of him. Making the sale is only one goal – having a satisfied and pleased customer base is far more important to the long-range success of any retail business involving “big ticket” products like TVs and electronics. Alfred is outstanding!
Sincerely,
Edward K.

The state of the art, Backlit remote for the V35 Home Entertainment System, has fewer buttons, is better organized, and provides a light for use in dark rooms. This upgrade makes navigating through the different uses of your system, as simple as possible.
